"Weeks, Months, Years" CD Release Party, 04.18.08
Mission Entertainment brought Ryan McMahon to the Media Club for the release of his most recent offering, "Weeks, Months, Years". It was great to catch Ryan mid-tour when the band had been hammering it out for a number of shows together. His performance was tight, and solid players joined Ryan to bring to life the party that was "packed to the rafters". |

from The Lefsetz Letters | © 2007 Bob Lefsetz
I find Bob to be an absolute blow-hard with a god complex and have yet to discover what it is about him that makes "industry insiders" repeat his words at the water cooler as though he were anything BUT a critic... as though he does not have his own agenda... as though HIS is the last answer... when in reality he poses NO SOLUTION to anything and is only there to point out the weaknesses in the system... which is what, about bob, i find useful.
No other kudos paid to the man.
Just one good article among a thousand bad rants.
but hey... one good article is one good article ... so here it is.... with permission.
We've got to kill the album.
Actually, it's already dead. It's just that the artists and labels don't know it.
Oh, don't get your panties in a twist. Just think about it. When cavemen started banging on rocks, was there somebody chewing a primitive cigar saying you've got to have TWELVE rhythms, broken down six to a side? |
