The official newsletter of Loveless Entertainment Group Ltd.
My life has been nothing less than hemmingwayesque. This past year has made this next year seems as open, to me, as the sky itself. I've reached a point where the players i want to work with, want to work with me. This, to me, is as exciting a time as ever before in my life (and I have, excitedly, partied with countless rock stars and the preferred pretty people of Hollywood).
This year started off with me making friends and enemies of an old time rocker all in the same week.... but i digress....
I've yet to sign my name to anything legal; i live off the radar of
most of the major music scene and have all of my career... until now.
I've played with some sweet players and opened for rock stars and
wannabe pop princesses; toured it hard across large expanses of
nothingness (see 'Nullabor Plain' and the 'Calgary to Ontario' stretch
of the Trans Canada Hwy) just to play for a few toothless wonders.
I have recorded a hand full of Cd's; one with a few guys who played
with the bands I grew up listening to and a few with some real friends,
OZ's EVE (Australia), who jammed four days a week, 5 hours a day, for 9
months before we even rocked one club..... We made a video that aired
on RAGE (national australian video chanel) and rocked the piss out of
Sydney for a while. You can check out the 'Indie Girl' video at
www.carolyna.com as well as footage of some more recent live
performances; a podcast of the 'Live @ The Railway Club' gig presented
by Pollyanna Publishing, Radio Carolyna, and photos I took at the 2005
MTV Video Awards afterparty.
At this time, Michael (Loveless) and I are opening the shop to the
masses rather than keeping it all for our own pleasure. Swamp Folk
Records will bring new artists in for 'Live' podcasts on
www.carolyna.com and are working on the marketing and publishing
aspects of the business.
I have decided to put a band and a new live show together to take on
the road in support of a new album and video. Looking forward to seeing
some more of the planet. Really looking forward to coming to play your
town.
Cheers.
Carolyna
